Tiger stripes, kindness and inspiration
I’m participating in the justacard.org week And today is Day 3 which is all about giving love to other makers that you admire. I’ve been considering this question all day. There are SO many people that I admire for so many different reasons, but I keep coming back to those that I know personally. I know how much tenacity and passion these people have and I’m so amazed by their accomplishments. I think it’s pretty fitting that I finished this piece today as these ladies are all filled to the brim with kindness and tenacity.
Here are a few people who inspire me daily even if they don’t know it. In no particular order:
Mimi Maumus, Owner of home.made
Mimi is a dear friend of mine from college and I’m so proud of how she has consistently built her career, her craft and her restaurant. If y’all are ever in Athens, GA, you should go see her. Her food is amazing and the restaurant is filled with dishes, art and food from local makers, craftspeople and famers which makes it even more delightful.
Natty Michelle, Owner nattymichellepaperie
Natty is someone that I worked with during my agency days. I have been a fan of hers for a long time and have loved watching the evolution of her blog turned business. She specializes in cityscapes and custom maps. Her work has such a sweet, perfectly southern charm about it, I’m not at all surprised when I find her goods in local shops. (And I cheer for her each time) If you follow her on social media or her blog, you’ll catch a glimpse of her two babies, and OMG! You will seriously want to squish their cheeks — so cute!!
Amanda Brown
meetamandabrown.com
Amanda is so amazing and I always feel good when I am around her. She is so many things including a crafter who spreads love and glitter across her neighborhood by engaging local kids in monthly craft clubs. She also makes yummy holistic products and she’s just so driven to bring good to the world.
I could go on and on with a list of people who inspire me. Perhaps I’ll use future posts to elaborate, but for now I’m just happy that I have folks to look up to and prove that passion, hard work and perseverance can pay off. Thank you, ladies.
